Houston, Texas Friendship Exchange
International Convention in New Orleans May 2011
With the blessing of District Governor Marilyn, Allan and Keri Sweet, of the Rotary Club of Padstow
are liaising with Charles Grant of the Rotary Club of North Shore in Houston, Texas,
to organize a Friendship Exchange in conjunction with International Convention in New Orleans on May 22nd to 25th.
Allan and Charles were GSE team leaders in 2004 to each other’s districts and when Charles and his wife Gail
offered to home host the Sweets in Texas and then drive them the 5 hours to New Orleans the idea of a Friendship Exchange was hatched.
Charles’ club has 100 members and so host families will not be difficult to find.
It would be possible to stay in Texas either prior to or after Convention and once matched
with a host it may be possible to discuss your Texas “wish list” of things to see and do with your hosting family.
There would be an expectation to reciprocate hosting when International Convention is held in Sydney in 2014.
