Past District Governor 2009-10

Paul was born at Parramatta and educated at Marist Brothers Parramatta where he completed the last leaving certificate in 1965.

Paul joined the then Bank of New South Wales in 1966 where he stayed for almost 35 years leaving in 2000 to take up the position as CEO of a Community Housing organisation in Western Sydney from which he retired in 2005. In retirement Paul has done some consultancy work and is a board member of a Credit Union.

Paul is a self confessed sport-a-holic and enjoys watching all sports especially Rugby League and Union which he played for 30 years, he is also a keen golfer, playing badly on every available non Rotary weekend.

Paul was an active member of his children’s school parents & friends organisations being on the executive of five different schools over 15 years of membership. He also enjoyed coaching the kids various sporting teams from girl’s netball to rugby league, cricket and swimming.

Paul commenced his service club life in 1975 joining Penrith Apex Club and compulsorily retired in 1989 on turning 40. During his time Paul was a member of 5 clubs as he did his 9 year country stint with the bank being president of two clubs, serving on Zone and National boards. He was awarded Life Membership of Canobolas Club (Orange NSW) in 1988. After Apex Paul spent 11 years as a director of Fox Hills Golf Club four as president, before joining Holroyd Rotary in May 2000.

At Holroyd, Paul has served as Markets co-ordinator, IR director, Secretary and President in 2004/05. He was District Conference chair in 2004, District Youth Chair 2005/06, Assistant Governor 2006/07 and Governor’s Aide 2007/08. Paul has also served on GSE committee as well as hosting team members and together with Julia was a Counsellor and Secretary of the Youth Exchange Committee 2002-06.

Paul & Julia married in 1970, and have two children, Michael a high school teacher and Melissa an Occupational Therapist. Michael is married to Shayne and they have two boys, Thomas and Patrick, Melissa is married to Paul and lives in Melbourne.
